Catching up & a Thank you!

*****Edited to Add*****
I need to add a special Thank you to Bridge over at Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I was late in doing this - so she gets a shout at the top! She hosted a giveaway & I WON!!! She sent me the cutest tote and it had a special surprise - Gummi Bears! I love gummi bears. Her husband is a recent college graduate and is a new 2nd LT in the Air Force - please go congratulate her & if you're a military spouse, welcome her to your family.

Thank you Bridge! I LOVE it!

I mentioned last Friday that I had been bad about sharing awards and tags. I went back through my comments and tried to find what I had missed. So here are two!

Kimmie over at Full Circle gave me the Queen of all Things Awesome.

This is what I am supposed to to since I have been tagged:
1. List 7 things that make me awe-summm.
2. Pass the award onto 7 bloggers that I love
3. Tag those bloggers to let them know they are now Queens too (and link back to the Queen who tagged you).

Amber at Life as We Know It tagged me in Tag You're It.

The rules to this are:
  1. Mention the person that tagged you.
  2. List six unimportant things that make you happy.
I'm taking the two lists I was supposed to make & combining them into one with 7 items.

Ready?

  1. I remember people's birthdays and send them cards. Sometimes cute little gifts too - usually from HandPicked.
  2. I love to eat. Now, I don't know if that is particularly awesome or unimportant. But, my list - I get to pick. I love food. Thai food, sushi, Eastern NC BBQ, Veggies, Meats, Tapas (if you're ever in Charlotte, go here), pizza, pasta, breakfast....there's not much that I don't like.
  3. As much as I love to eat, this one should not be a surprise - I love to cook. And I'm pretty good. And Mr. Potts not only likes what I cook, but has started requesting certain dishes.
  4. I'm nice. Truly, genuinely nice. I think that is both awesome as well as something that makes me happy.
  5. I can sleep anywhere. Put me in a car - I'm out. Put me on a plane - I'm out. Give me a bed - I'm napping. On a couch on a rainy day - out. I've even contemplated whether I could get away with crawling under my desk & napping. I think I'd be found out though.
  6. I like singing. I never said I was any good.
  7. 80's music (think Tiffany, NKOTB, Hair Metal) is sorely missed in my household. Mr. Potts & I both have a ton of this (not Tiffany or NKOTB for him) on our iPod's.
And happiness comes in the form of my niece & nephew. I'll share a picture tomorrow of my niece with Hayden this past weekend.

I'm sharing this with anyone who has not yet played & would like to.

Tell me, what makes you awesome or what makes you happy?

Tag...You're it?

Kristen from Something about nothin tagged me in 7 Random Facts.
I'm supposed to share seven random facts about myself and then tag seven other people.

So, here goes!
1. I watch General Hospital. Not just watch it, but DVR every, single episode so that I can stay up to date and current on the latest goings on in Port Charles. I have had 2 weeks build up with a busy travel schedule.
2. I can cross every finger on each hand. Don't even have to try, I "trained" my fingers to do that when I was in 3rd grade.
3. When I turned 30 I insisted that Mr. Potts & I celebrate it for 3 months. Yep, I LOVE birthdays.
4. I have a well organized brain, but am a clutter bug - according to Mr. Potts. He tells me it is amazing how I can process things, but still collect magazines for 5 months.
5. I am a morning person. I wake up happy & giggly.
6. I don't get hangovers. I know, you hate me. Sorry!
7. I am a total snob about my hair - it is thick beyond belief. When it gets past a certain length (about mid-back) I get daily headaches until I get a haircut. I use great shampoos & conditioners to keep it soft & strong.

So now I must tag others to share some random facts, but I'm going to keep it to a short list.

1. Jen from Wedding Peephole
2. Leah from Dinks in the City
3. "Birdcage" from Feathers and Pearls
4. "Nola" from With Love from New Orleans
5. Meg from The Randomness of Meghan

If you haven't checked Meg out before, make sure you read her blog, "You know it's cold when..."

Have fun!

I've been tagged!

I follow Mrs. Stilettos blog - you should definitely check it out! The wonderful woman has tagged me & I'll respond in turn. Here's how it works:

I was tagged and next I'll tag three bloggers and in return they have to tag three more! The lucky blogger to be tagged has to answer ten questions and tell us a little about themselves! "

1. What is your funniest childhood story? I made my little brother let me put makeup all over his face. I had bright pink fingernail polish on a paper plate & smashed it in his face - the poor towhead was covered in pink polish which didn't wash our for months! Funny to me, just not to anyone else.

2. What would your dream dress look like if you could design it? Something soft, coral/red, comfy, but still sexy.

3. What weird habit does your hubby have? Not so weird, but definitely annoying. He takes super hot showers. Which really isn't a problem, but it heats up our bathroom & my temperature runs higher than average. It just kills me!

4. How many cookbooks are in your kitchen? 6 -8 probably, including self built ones with collections of my favorite recipes.

5. Granny panties or loyal Victoria Secret girl? Not grannies! Victoria's Secret - although I love Hanky Pankies

6. My favorite memory from 2008 so far is... Getting Married! Followed by the honeymoon in Barbados!

7. I secretly...wish I could get a massage every day.

8. I could really go for... Not really a go for, but I'm sick right now & would just like to get better.

9. We are going to have a big snow storm and you will find me... Not in the grocery store! Seriously, what do you think you'll do when you have no electricity & eggs that need cooking?? Most likely wrapped up in my favorite blanket, reading with a cup of hot tea or perhaps a cup of hot chocolate.

10. I knew he was the one... when he said that he loved Thai food for a date - he'd never had it before in his life. That's one small memory that stands out in my mind, there are countless others!
