The Positives

Thank you so much for the encouragement you shared with me last Friday when I wrote about the unhappiness I've been feeling in the new job. I know that I'm not alone feeling that way & that other people have been in the same position. I'm working to stay positive about it & I truly appreciate your support.

On that note, this week I've had the chance to spend time with a co-worker who is not my boss. I feel like if I can continue to focus on the positive, this will be a great experience for me. While I've been with this co-worker I was told several times that I have one of the most positive outlooks of anyone. It made me smile knowing that people see this in me.

You see, I truly believe that the small, everyday actions you take can make a positive impact on people you may not know.

I strive to focus on the positive and lift other people up.

I think that the more frequently we can lift others up the better place our world can be.

When people need encouragement, I encourage. When I have an opportunity, I praise people's accomplishments.

What you did last week was turn that around for me & help me keep focused on the positives that are in my work life. Thank you so much.

As a special thank you the first three people to comment with how they spread the positive will receive a special gift from me.

So tell me, how do you spread the positive in your everyday life?

I try to give at least three compliments during the course of the day -- it makes me focus on the positive in life, but also improves my relationships with those around me

I fell behind on your blog, and THIS is the entry I started with to catch up. I loved it! What a reminder for me to always help lift up others...and by doing so lift up myself. It sure does make the world a better place.

So happy to read this from you. You sound yourself again - positive and optimistic.

You know something...I resigned yesterday! No, I don't have a job yet, but then I couldn't take it anymore. Feeling a lot lighter since then...phew!!!

The colleagues I shared this news with are not happy. And that makes me sad. On asking them, they told me that they'd miss sharing things with me and how they could approach me at any time for any suggestion, help or even just to be listened to. One even jokingly said that I was like their friend, counselor and even agony aunt! To be honest, that made me cry. I have always strived to be honest and selfless in all my relationships and all relationships are very important for me. To know that I am making some difference in someone's life humbled me and I am happy that I have been able to do so :)

Isn't it so wonderful to hear such things about yourself from your friends/colleagues? It surely makes you feel better even under stressful situations and inspires you to be more like that :)

I hope you continue to find positives and may the Supreme power help you overcome these testing times.

Lots of love and hugs!!!

I spread the positive by complimenting people.

You have such a good attitude. Sometimes it's hard to see the positve when you're going through something rough - and that's okay. When you experience a death or you're grieving your immediate reaction shouldn't be, "What is the positive in this?" But if you can overcome your grief and look back without dwelling and say, "It happened, I'm moving on." I think that's being positve as well. (Speaking from personal experience the past 3+ months).

You are very positive. I have always thought that about you. I have become more postiive recently and people have even noticed. I keep focusing on positive outcomes, and they happen!! Not every day, but recently I have been able to help other people in unfortunate situations. Making someone else’s day feels pretty good.

I try to make people laugh and smile and not be so miserable at work like they normally are. It's somber working where I work so I try to liven it up a little.

I love your attitude! And I SO agree about the small actions in your life can be really positive for someone else. Even with difficult people I try really hard to just take a step back and say to myself "what is the Christian thing to do here" and that always seems to help. We're all rooting for ya!
