Stems, Pipes, Sticks, Legs

The last time I posted, it was all about legs. This is something that has been on my mind a lot lately.

While I have good legs (they get me where I need to go, I can take Hayden for walks, squats and lunges may be the bain of my existence, but I can do them), I don't have great legs.

When you look at my legs from the front, they're fine. Take a look from behind & on my left calf you'll see the beginnings of varicose veins.

These are caused by a myriad of reasons and I seem to have been hit with a few of them. Genetics, long periods of standing, poor circulation, etc. There have been days recently when after a full day of facilitation, I look down at my calf and the veins are bulging.

And y'all, it hurts. I mean, seriously hurts.

So I'm going today for a consultation with a vein specialist here in Charlotte to see about what I can do.

Aren't you glad it's Thursday??

I used to work on a case (patent infringment case) for a company that held the patent for a medical tool and procedure that removed varicose veins!! I had to look at many pictures and videos of veins and the process of romving them. This was a few years ago, but I feel like at the time I became an expert on VV's. I say go For it! I read they can be very painful!

I have bad veins also. I developed most of mine with my pregnancy. No one told me wearing heels while 9 months pregnant could do that to you. LOL!!! At least that's what I blame it on. Let us know what they say. I've been thinking about having mine taken care of too. XOXO

I'll be the one with spider veins from sitting all day....it's always something isn't it! I've heard Drs can zap the vein and it will shrivel up and die and the body naturally reroutes the blood. Someone in my husband's family had that done. If all else fails and you are DESPERATE to get rid of it, hard contact works too. My husband's father was pitching to his youngish son and his son hit a ball that hit my FIL's leg that had a really bad varicose vein he had and it disapeared. Most likely the same methodology they use with the laser. The doctor's guess was the vein ruptured and the body just rerouted things and the vein disolved away.
