An Interesting Workout

I'm in New England again this week. Torrential downpours & all. Bleh.

But when I get back to Charlotte, it will be 82 on Friday & 83 on Saturday. YAY! And I get to see Mr. Potts, the fluffmeisters & the munchkins!

I got up this morning at 4:45am - side note: this is MUCH easier to do when you're away or your person is away. At least for me it is.

Anyway, 4:45am. Down to the hotel gym for what I determined was going to be a hard core interval workout. And it was.

My face was as red (bright pink) as my sportsbra. Not really attractive when you add in the kinks & curls from the humidity.

Wondering why there was humidity? The AC in the fitness room was not working. So the nice man at the front desk opened the windows. Remember torrential downpours mentioned earlier? That is where the humidity came from.

Either way, I digress.

Running on the treadmill, kicking butt walking at 4.5 on a 5% incline, jumping off the treadmill to do lunges with over head presses, lots of stuff like that.

Finally finished with the cardio, I stretched & then started to do some ab work. Crunches? Check! Ball side to side? Whoa!!! I've got a charley horse in my stomach!

Please tell me I'm not alone in getting those. I had to do some ab stretches to calm it down, but I'm sure I looked funny.

Thankfully no one joined me in there.

I may have scared them off with the open windows (I need to be cool when I work out), the hot pink face to match my shirt/bra combo or perhaps even with the gasp & "what the...?" when my abs charley-horsed.

Again, please tell me someone else has gotton one of these before?

Happy Wednesday!!!

Damn, Gina! That sounded hardcore! SO PROUD OF YOU!! Loved getting your text this morning, it got my tushy on the go! :)

Did you try drinking water? Sometimes I get cramps and drinking water helps them subside. It could be totally psychological for me, but just a thought!

XOXO

Whoa girl, you are impressive! That sounds super hardcore, I don't know if I could have handled the humidity! I'm with everyone else, go for the water...even if you don't feel like you're dehydrated it can't hurt..

I am sure you are ready to get home! Safe travels, love! XO

Yes! I have gotten them...
My roomie and I were talking about working out in a warm area that makes you sweat more, are you just loosing water weight or does it do something to your metabolism???

I need to be cool when I work out too! LAst night, I did a Strength conditioning class at the gym (with SOME interval training) and with 25 people in the room, I was SOOO uncomfortable. My face was bright red and it just felt muggy and humid. Yuck. Last week, I was away and ran in the morning outside along the ocean (on pavement-not ready for sand!) and I had such a great workout BECAUSE I was comfortable with the temp and the breeze. I have never had a Charlie horse in my abs, but I get them in other areas. I imagine you can get them in any muscle area…so you know what that means???? YOU HAVE LOTS of muscles in your abs! :)
