The joys of traveling for work.
Going to new cities can be fun. You definitely get to see new sights & people.
Going to new restaurants can be fun (unless you're seriously trying to lose weight, then it becomes a little tricky). You get to try new places you've never eaten & possibly new foods.
Staying in hotels can sometimes be fun. You have your own personal housekeeper, which in a way is fairly accurate. You leave in the morning & when you return you have a freshly cleaned room. *POOF* Like Magic!
Sometimes, however, you just want to be home. Seeing the same people you see on a regular basis.
Sometimes you don't want to eat in a restaurant for every meal. You want to sit down at your own table, eat off of your own plates & eat food that you prepared.
Sometimes you want to sleep in your own bed in your own home with your own comforter pulled up nice & cozy.
Last night was one of those nights for me.
I was settled in, with my pillow fixed - the only pillow in the room that wasn't feather. And I have to admit, I can't stand feather pillows. I always wake up in the middle of the night with a feather poking me in the face. Not fun!
I'm woken up in the middle of the night.
To snoring. Loud, chainsaw snoring.
I reach over to nudge Mr. Potts and tell him to turn over.
Only Mr. Potts wasn't there. Remember? Sleeping in a hotel room.
Instead, I had a man on the other side of the hotel wall cutting down an entire forest with his snoring.
Incredibly loud snoring.
I tried calling out to the man to, "turn over" to no avail.
I tried banging my headboard against the wall only to realize that it would sound like I was having a wild night in a hotel room.
I didn't care at this point.
At some point, my body decided it could sleep through this and I went back to sleep.
Tonight, I look forward to a new hotel & hopefully new hotel neighbors who don't have a problem with chainsaws in the middle of the night.

Brad snores like that.. earplugs...
OMG. I cannot beleive someone was shoring that loud! I would have kicked his door down I think.
I hate that! I am so cranky when my beauty sleep is disturbed.
ugh. ANNOYING. I thought hotels tried to put beads on opposite walls of the room next to it for a reason like this or the wild night reason.
haha. if it was REALLY annoying (although I can pretty much sleep through anything) but if I was bothered, I would have called his room and hung up! just to wake him and get him to turn over or whatever.
Oh ick! Seriously, that's a bad snorer! Through the wall! AHHH!!! I love that you tried to bang the headboard only to realize what it sounds like! I'd do that, too!
oh no...I am praying that you have a lovely and restful night sleep tonight. A sympathy note needs to go to that man's wife...if it was that loud and annoying through the wall, think if you actually had to be next to him.
HAHAHA your solution cracked me up!! "only to realize it would sound like I was having a wild night!"
Hope you get some sleep tonight!!
Ugh. Not being able to sleep because of snoring is THE WORST ... especially if you can't punch the person and tell them to roll over. Hopefully tonight's sleep is more restful.
Goo! That does NOT sound like fun. I'm sorry.
Here's to hoping for a better nights sleep tonight.
I hear ya girl!!!
I cannot wait to be all situated back in my house and in my own room again!!!
OMG I CANT BELIEVE IT WAS THAT LOUD!! paper thin walls, i tell ya, paper thin.
ha ha! i probably would have yelled that through the wall too! i don't know how many times i've hit hubby to 'roll over' too!
OMG, that sounds like some serious snoring!
I know what you mean about traveling for work. Being in a hotel room and eating out doesn't compare to being home and having dinner with your husband.
Oh how annoying! I would be so pissed!
Oh man. My mother in law has this ability and it is quite a riot. It wakes up Brandon and he snores too!
Horrible. I cannot stand people that snore. I swear, had Z snored, I would not have married him...so obnoxious.
Obviously I get super cranky when I don't get enough sleep :)
Bah! I know the feeling. Work trips can be fun but there's no place like home, where the only man waking you up with his snoring is the one you're in love with. Hope you get a better sleep tonight! XOXO
sorry for the restless night! I would have definitely started banging on the walls!!
Oh, that's not fun, at all.
Last week, I was in Memphis and my hotel room door was cornered right next to another room door. They were literally 6 inches from each other. Every time my neighbor shut his door, it vibrated my wall and made me think someone was bursting into my room.
that's the worst! your lover's snores, fine...but some random guy on the other side of a hotel wall, just wrong. not cool man.
Agh, that's the worst! I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight!
Oh my! I was awaken in Raleigh, NC hotel once from a HUGE domestic dispute and could hear the husband choking his wife through the wall. It was awful and went on all night till we called the police.
oh no :( that is the worst.
you poor girl.
one night i was sitting over night and the room i had to sleep in had no tv so of course i heard any and every little noise and it freaked me out. thank goodness for my itouch! the music put me to sleep.
although, that night ended bad...i'll have to post on that some time.
i hope you are sleeping much better tonight....have a great weekend!!
that is terrible!! I cannot stand snoring... my hubby does it and it drives me BANANAS!!!!
ps: just found your blog... I am also from CLT!! :)
That's crazy. I think it's hilarious that you tried the headboard thing. hehe. Hope you get more sleep tonight
