A pure class act

I have one word for Jesse James - and it isn't appropriate coming out of my Southern Mouth. So we'll just leave it at that.

Sandra, on the other hand, I only have words of praise for.

Congrats to her on adding to her family. What makes this truly a class act for me is that she adopted from New Orleans. Not from Haiti, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire, but from New Orleans. A city that I love (and I'll admit, that may make me a bit more inspired by this), but a city that is ours.

How many children are in the US who need loving homes & families?

I applaud all efforts to end childhood poverty & unite these little ones with people who will love and cherish them, but I commend her for looking within before going abroad.

Kudos Sandra, KUDOS!!!

I could not agree more. I feel the same way about those who choose to do habitat for humanity or other programs here in America instead of traveling to warmer locales on their spring break. I'm thankful for everyone who chooses to adopt, or help out a family that is less fortunate, but I particularly love when that goodwill starts at home.

OMG...I can't believe this. I had to jump over to people.com to check this out.

I totally agree with you and feel that this woman is truly a class act.

PS-You can totally bring the Potts family to live with me when I purchase my new home. We might see each other more if we stayed where we live now. :) And, yes girls trip with Candy. Have a great day.

You are so right. I have always just thought she was fantastic. She's smart, giving, beautiful, funny, and is making the best out of a terrible situation. I just found your blog off of dar's and I'm so glad I did!

I am all with you! Tired of hearing about people adopting from Haiti, etc.
BTW - Wasn't sure what you acronym meant on the dress? Did you try the same one on? My Mom got it for me at Macys..

I second this! Major props to Sandra for seeing a need in OUR OWN COUNTRY. It's something I am passionate about. We have far to many people who need our help right here in the U.S. to continue to focus our efforts on foreign countries.

I heard something about Sandra on the news this morning but I didnt know it was about adopting a baby!!
SO, an adoption 3 months in the making?? Was she planning this before the scandal broke out?
I want that magazine now.
Good for her! There are SOO many kids who need homes in THIS country. :)

She's a wonderful person. What a cute little chubby baby! I've often thought about adoption if our own family plans didn't work out--I know there are SO many kids in the world that need good homes.

Thanks for sharing this!

I agree! I so desperately wish all children could find a home, but sometimes people over glamorize the adoption of kids from other counties-what about our own kids here??? There is a lot of sadness and open hearts right here in the US!

I love it, I was soooo happy for her when I heard about it! She's always been one of my favorites but this really puts her at the top. That baby is so adorable, what a little munchkin!
