Talk about how well product placement works

Mr. Potts and I watch The Biggest Loser - sidenote: who here won't raise their hand & agree that they're happy Melissa is gone? We cheered when she was the one to leave this past week!

We DVR the show since I'm usually out of town & we've both gotten so involved in it. We always laugh and fast forward through the product placement that inevitably is there.

I mean, chewing gum to make sure you don't overeat? Not gonna happen.

One show, however, had a product placement that stuck with me.

The Yoplait Frozen Smoothies were shown as a great alternative to snacks & high calorie/fat treats.

I'll admit, I was a bit interested.

I used to love the smoothies from Smoothie King. That was until I checked out calorie count. Most of their small smoothies constitute a full meal & for me, that wasn't the case. They were good, but I never looked at them as just lunch.

Sunday while we were doing a bit of early grocery shopping I thought about the Yoplait frozen smoothies & decided to pick up a package so that Mr. Potts & I could try them.

Note: None of my thoughts of doing this or writing about this were due to sponsorship or payment.

I made the smoothies for us after a long afternoon walk with Hayden.

And you know what? We both liked them!

So, if you like smoothies & are looking for an alternative to super size/super calorie ones, I'd recommend these.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

haven't tried these but I agree on Smoothie King. Back in the early 200's..they were the trend.. I was all into them until I looked at the calories! WHOA! I'm not a customer there in anymore.

I'm glad you liked them. I wanted to try them too.

PRAISE GOD Melissa is gone. Ugh. The product advertisements are getting on my nerves. Ziploc is clearly paying the salaries of all of those people. I love how Bob just throws it in there like he is really helping the contestants. "You know what you need for a snack? Fiber One cereal. Taste it. Isn't that Fiber One delicious. When you are finished, put some in a ziploc double seal bag and then later when you want your Fiber Once it will be in your ziploc double seal bag waiting for you."

Clearly I have some pent up agression. :) Hope you're having a great day.

WOW! YOU GOt suckerd! haha. just kidding. The product placement in that show is just hilarious. I was watching the show Life Unexpected last week and they had some Major product placement gonig on. I find it laughable. The smoothes do look good though. I watch BL on DVR too and I was happy to see whats her face go home! :)

I didn't see the spot on BL, but you're right! They love their product placement over there, don't they?

You and Mr. Potts watch BL together? I need to text you when we watch it, we often DVR it and watch it another night. We were hoping SO HARD that Melissa would be gone. She was driving me up the flippin' wall about "It's a competition, I don't know why they're not voting based on who will help them win 1/4 of a million dollars" blah blah blah. It's like she had no idea what companionship means or friendship! Drives me batty.

On other, more pleasant news, I do love the Yoplait smoothies! I often add almost-too-ripe-almost-yucky fruit to the smoothies and sub 1/2 water for the 1 cup of milk you need to add. Sometimes I add a Fiber One vanilla yogurt to beef it up if it's part of a meal for me. How's that for product placement? :)
