Top 2 Tuesday

Taylor over at The Undomestic Momma hosts Top 2 Tuesday. This week's topic is is Top 2 Beauty Secrets. Now, I don't know that I truly have many beauty secrets that I haven't already shared, but here goes:

Top 2 Beauty Secrets

1. After cleaning my cast iron skillets I "season" them with oil. When I do this, I use a little of the extra oil & rub it into my cuticles. This is a great way to keep them moisturized & from cracking.

2. When out on the lake in the summer I keep a tube of deep conditioner in my bag. After jumping in & cooling off, I comb out my hair & apply the deep conditioner all over. Rolling it into a bun, I cover it with a hat. Easy way to deep condition & protect my hair.

This tends to be my favorite!

Can you tell I'm all about the multi-tasking?

What are your beauty secrets? Any new ones out there for me? I'll usually carry a small jar of Vaseline with me when I travel & use it around my eyes at night to keep them from drying out.

See, now who loves you? Three tips on a Two-For-Tuesday!

Hm, that's a good idea. I always worry about my cast iron griddle/grill thingie (technical term) and never thought to season it with some oil. Good call! xoxo

My mother uses Vaseline! So funny...she swears by it around her eyes and thinks it keeps her eyelashes separated.

You always have great beauty tips or products to use.

I love the second one. I also tend to like anything Bumble and Bumble makes. :)

Not sure I have any great tips - but I agree with a lot of people about vaseline - it's a miracle ointment. I use it on my lips every night before bed. I never ever get chapped lips & I swear it makes them moisturized/fuller?

Another trick I use is to put burt's bees coconut foot oil on my feet before bed and cover with socks. My feet feel soft & wonderful in the morning, but I can only do this every now & then because I hate sleeping with socks on! :)

What kind of oil do you season your pans with? Olive oil?
I use vaseline ALL the time. A thin layer on my face! :)
I will try that conditioner. I am ALWAYS on the search for a new one. MY hair gets used to conditioners and they stop working as well.

I so need the leave in conditioner after swimming too. Besides...without it I can't comb my hair out at all. :) XOXO

I like that idea about the cast iron griddle thing, can't say I've ever heard of that one!

Great tips...will try Vaseline soon.
For me a blue kajal (kohl pencil) and Meybelline lip gloss do the trick! In winters, I apply some oil on my naval before going to bed. That keeps them soft, supple and chap-free throughout the cold season! And almond oil around the eyes does the trick for tired and puffy eyes!
