You Women With Kids....

I salute you. I honestly don't know how you do it!

Yesterday I took care of my mom and the munchkins. It was exhausting. Not to mention our pilot light was out yesterday morning, so I took an ice cold shower. Eek!!

Why did I spend the day taking care of everyone, you may ask. My mom had an early morning appointment to go in & have all of her upper teeth pulled so that she could begin wearing a full denture.

Remember when I told you about how vigilant I am about my teeth? There are a ton of reasons why I am, but this is also one. I would like to avoid this fate if at all possible.

So yesterday, I took care of my mother after her two appointments and I took care of my precious nephew while she was in those appointments. Keeping a three year old entertained in a dentist's office while his nana is getting her new dentures put in for the first time is hard.

Once my mom was settled in & resting with her pain medicine in effect, we ran to get the things she would need for the remainder of the week.

We ran and we ran.

And then we ran some more.

All the time keeping an eye on the clock to make sure we were home in time to meet that sweet niece when the school bus pulled up.

We did homework, we read, we made sure Nana had taken the pain medicine.

We made brownies, we made dinner, we ate dinner & then we cleaned up.

We read some more, we did more homework, we took our baths, we checked on Nana.

By the end of the day I could barely keep my eyes open.

I made sure they were tucked in tight with prayers said & special ones for Nana's mouth.

I made it home to Mr. Potts. I crawled onto the couch and looked at him.

"I don't know how people do this."

"I'm tired."

To which he replied, "You look tired."

Isn't he wonderful?

I'm still exhausted this morning, but at least I was able to take a hot shower!

Happy Thursday everyone & remember to brush, floss & rinse!

I know what you mean. I went to a friends house last night. She has twins. I do not know how she does everything she does with those two around!! I left her house exhausted.
Hope Nana is feeling good today!

Well, you had it rough! Normally, we peeps with kids aren't caring for our doped up moms and running around town with her and kids! :D I don't know how people with more than 2 do it-and I only have 1! And want 4.......yikers.

I once looked after my cousin's kids for a few hours, and it was miserable! I needed a nap, desperately, after it was over. Hopefully I'll be better after I actually DO have kids one day!

I know, I don't know how people do it! Both Nick and I were just saying this week, "How's it going to be when we have kids?" We already feel like we're tired all the time and going, going, going. We'll probably look back and think we had it so easy!

I'm sure the kids had a wonderful day with you and Nana could not have been in better hands. Hope she is feeling better today!

When I consider having my children close together in age, I think how exhausted I am after working with tons of kids of the same age in the same classroom.

And then I get so tired just thinking about it, I go to bed.

For someone who wants to be a mother really bad, I worry about my maternal skills for this very reason:)

oh my gosh, i can totally relate to you!!! we had my nephew last night and he was a little pill!! he is usually such a fun little guy but he has developed this attitude no 2 year old should have. i had to put him in time out for the first time at our place.
i told my brother and his fiance that billy and i would watch dominic (nephew) for 3 days in june, i checked the calendar two days later only to realize billy will be out of town those 3 days....make a girl want to cry ;) jk! i know i can handle a 2 year old, alone....for 3 whole days...but it's going to be a challenge!
i know i will have a whole new respect for single parents!

i hope your mom is doing well hun!

have a wonderful weekend!! :)

oh man, sounds exhasting! This is the very reason I keep reminding hubs WHY we are not currently pregnant or have kiddies....good grief the thought of going through this move with that additional component makes me want to collapse into a fit of sobs on my bed...there is a time and place for everything! ;)

Seriously - "you look tired" is the worst thing you can say to someone, EVER. It's a roundabout way of saying "you look terrible." I hate it when people say that to me!!

I'm teeth vigilant and have still had root canals. Le sigh. And toddlers are NO joke!

LOL @ Bumpkin's comment - HAHA!!

Babysitting is fun, but it is always nice to pack them up and send them back home, I know how you feel for now! :)
