I'm Vain, I Admit it

I am vain. Not in a "Oh my, I'm so pretty I could stop traffic." Not, "My body just rocks" (although if you push me the right way, you may see it rock & roll). Not, "Mirror, mirror on the wall...."I'm vain about my hair. It is thick & heavy & wavy. It shines. I don't get split ends.Right now, however, I'm not feeling vain. I'm totally rockin Kelly Bundy roots. I am in DESPERATE need of some quality time with my hairdresser. A good 3 hour session where I can read in silence and she massages my head & neck when washing my hair. But you see, I recently "broke up" with my hairdresser. It's not her, it's me. She works so far away & it takes me 50 minutes on a good day, 1 hour 10 minutes on a bad day to get there. The worst part is that I really haven't told her yet.So on the February 7th, I'll be going to audition someone new. My stomach is all aflutter already thinking about how she'll do. Will she be good with layers? Will she get my highlights just right? You know, that buttery warm color, but not too blonde? Will she let me sit in peace (I may be weird here, but my life is so hectic right now that the chance to just sit & relax is highly appealing)?

Do I tell my old hairdresser that we're no longer together? Should I give her the old, "It's not you, it's me..." line?

That is so like me. Yet I am still looking for Ms/Mr Right Hair.
Good luck with your new hair person. I wouldn't say anything to the old one until you know for sure it's not worth the trip!

Thanks for wanting to play along. Email me at cox8321@nc.rr.com and I will email you your questions.

You are too funny - you fellow NC girl!! But coming from a fellow long haired blond - I feel your pain. They always want to chop, and chop, don't they? UGH! Thanks for the follow.

I completely understand! I lived in LA for years and paid a ridiculous amount for my stylist to give me the perfect color and cut. Since moving, I have yet to find a new and trusted stylist (and it has been 7 years!) Because of our life in the military, we move every 3 years and I always tell my husband that it is easier for me to find a new GYNO than it is a hair stylist!

We have all been there. Totally nerve racking. I just found someone new also, so much more convenient for me and my hair looks better! And I'm with you, I want to relax, not give out my life story! Bleh! Update us after the appointment on the 7TH!

I just switched stylists last spring. I just never called my old one back. Oh how awful, but avoidance was easiest for me!!

hahah! I've broken up with several hairdresses...but they were usually just flings, so I never gave them the breakup speech. Hope the new hair cutter is fabulous and lets you sit in peace (I know that feeling too)(.

Good luck. Changing hairdressers is so freaking hard.

I HATE looking for a new hairstylist. When I was living in Louisiana I attempted to find a new hairstylist and was disappointed both times with my hair. Finally I just waited when I'd be visiting Oklahoma and went to my regular stylist. Now that I'm in Italy that's not an option and I'm really scared about finding someone to do my hair!
