8 Degrees

I'm not a cold weather type of girl. I much prefer warm weather when the sun hits your face and spreads a glow of happiness.

I'm not the type of girl who gets giddy thinking about skiing or snow-related sports. Put me on a boat in warm water and I'm happy.

Knowing this, I still happily accepted a job a little over two years ago that would regularly have me in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Maine, where currently the temperature is 8 degrees. With wind chill pushing that down to twelve below zero. Where the high today is forecast for 10-15 degrees. With wind chill pushing that down to around zero.

Hmmmm....irony much?

Either way, it is Thursday. This means time for the third giveaway in my month of Christmas giveaway series.

How it works? Today only you have a chance to win simply by commenting on this post. I'll "draw" (because we all know most of us use random.org).

Today, since it's so cold, this is for everyone who luxuriates in the idea of being cozy & comfy - you know, doing things you can do indoors.

What do you have a chance to win?

First up: a year subscription to Marie Claire. Fabulous magazine which gives us a glimpse of the pretties, but also hair inspiration, makeup must haves & real life stories which will inspire you.

Part two? Even more reason to cozy up - a $25 Barnes & Noble Gift Card. Looking for the next big book? Find it here. Looking to peruse a new cookbook? Find it here.

To enter simply comment on this post today, perhaps sharing whether you're a cold weather or warm weather type of girl & what you like to do in said weather.

Happy Thursday everyone! Almost Friday & Friday I'm on my way home.

Wow, fabulous giveaway!!!

And yeah, it was 4 degrees out here in Kansas this morning. Last week, we had a day of actual temp being -7. Negative numbers??!! Ick! I like snow, and think it is pretty, but come December 26, it better be 60 again!

love the giveaways. Me.. cold weather all the way! Love to ski, snowshoe, etc.
My honeymoon would be at the Ritz in Aspen if it weren't so darn expensive!

We are opposites, totally. I would give my right arm to be in negative degree temps instead of in the 30s where we are right now! There's something appropriate and fitting, in my mind, about freezing my tushy off during the wintertime! Call me crazy!

And enter me in the giveaway, please! You have such great giveaways!

Friday's almost here and then it's partytime for you!!

XOXO

I am a warm weather girl! My boss is shocked I do not know how to snow ski to which I reply gross. Snow skiing would only make me colder. No thanks!!

Great Giveaway!

I may not enjoy the cold weather, but I love the fire in my fireplace and the snow. I love when it snows and I can take my snow dogs out to play!

I am a warm weather girl. Although I do love living in a place where we experience all four seasons and I'm sure I'd miss it if I didn't. Amazing giveaway!

What a fun give away for an 8 degree day!!! I love both seasons actually. Each has its benifits. On cold winter days (when I don't have to be in the office) I love to snuggle up on the sofa with Baxley at my feet and watch movies with Ellie. :) XOXO

I'm a cold weather gal! I love to ski... except I have done much of it in the 9 years I've been living in DC. :(

I am definitely a warm weather girl who loves to swim and lay out at the beach. I like the snow for about a day, that's it. :P

I totally love cold weather! I am leaving today for a week in Iowa and New Hampshire, so I packed plenty of turtleneck sweaters, my favorite :)

I hate the cold too, but somehow live in Minnesota.....Riddle me that.

Totally hoping to win this! Mostly for the sake of winning, but also because those are terrific prizes!
I am most certainly a warm weather girl. Living in Texas I rarely have to deal with actual cold, but if it's damp, cloudy or coolish for too many days in a row I'm liable to start crying it makes me so depressed. I'm positive cuddling up with a Marie Claire could help.

Wow amazing giveaway! I like the in between weather...which we NEVER get here in Texas. The low 70's with the sun shining! Its either like 20 here or 110!

Love the cold of the mountains, and the warmth of the Gulf of Mexico. Would love the snow if I were in your neck of the woods. Nothing like a White Christmas I hear.
We will probably be putting the boat in the water on the big day, headed Due South. Jealous of your current situation.

IT IS FREEZING huh?! It was 2 degrees this morning at my house...and then I realized my tire was mostly flat! I still drove it to the closest gas station to just put air in it (I think this may have been bad, but I dont care- my hand would have frozen off) MY hand did nearly freeze off trying to get the air machine thing to work. Oh, and the wind blew my wreath off my door to the other side of the yard.
I am not a fan right now. I bet you are counting down the minutes until you get to fly back south...I wish I could come with you!

great giveaway! While I am a complete warm weather girl, I have the fortune (?) of splitting my year between Montana and Colorado at this point; while it is freezing and miserable most of the time, the beauty is unmatched. The mountains, the trees, the glistening snow? I HATE the cold, but I sure do love the scenery & am trying to soak it all in before I graduate and leave the frozen north behind except for vacations! :)

I hear you!! I grew up in Minnesota but moved to San Diego right after college... in large part because the weather is so much better. Now I think it's cold outside if it gets down to the 50s - woudn't have it any other way either!

Thanks for the giveaway fun Mrs. Potts!
